20-year-old producer Benjy Adams aka Benjamin Hofmann was born in England and moved to Switzerland at the age of 7.
Benjy left his home in the French part of Switzerland to pursue a music career, enrolling in the flagship Point Blank Music School in London to learn the art of production, developing skills which would later see him discovered and signed by Perfect Havoc Management.
At a young age, Benjy showed signs of his songwriting abilities. Ideas and melodies would pop into his head, but he never knew what to do with them. It was only when he started to learn to produce on FL Studio at the age of 13 – Benjy cites the late Avicii as an inspiration at that time – that he found a channel for his ideas and could begin to use the stored voice memos on his phone to create full songs. The producer Benjy Adams was born.
Today, Benjy is inspired by artists such as Martin Garrix, Kream, Lost Frequencies, MK, Jax Jones, Ian Kirk Patrick and more, but amongst all of the noise, he coined his own sound.
After experimenting in lots of different genres, Benjy settled on his sweet spot, one that combines the production and energy of house music with the songwriting and melodic style of pop music. It’s this accessible style of dance music that caught the attention of Perfect Havoc; the independent record label and management agency that has made its mark in this genre with six Official UK Top 20 singles.
A competent DJ and event organiser too, Benjy created opportunities to play the music he loved, staging intimate parties in his hometown venue, After Club in Nyon, Switzerland and later at London’s live music bar, Sevilla Mia, to bring his own energy to the dancefloor.
The journey of Benjy Adams is only just starting. His love of collaboration and working with vocals will be a prominent feature in the first set of new material that can be expected from this budding talent under the guidance of Perfect Havoc. Keep an ear to the ground for Benjy Adams in 2023.
