Tobtok & Mahalo Release New Collaboration

In partnership with Big Beat Records, Perfect Havoc is excited to announce a new joint release from two of our most successful artists, Tobtok and Mahalo, who deliver their brand new single ‘This Town’ featuring veteran singer-songwriter, Timpo.

Released on 17th July, the piano intro of This Town builds hype from the very get-go and swells into a deep house drop with Timpo’s mesmerising vocals pulling the listener in. Between this trio, they hold a double platinum record (Tobtok), a Billboard Dance #1 (Mahalo), and millions of record sales (Timpo), so it’s no surprise that This Town feels like another hit in the making.

Following the huge success of Tobtok’s May 2020 release ‘Freak Like Me’, which has now been streamed 1.3 million times, spun eight times on BBC Radio 1 and appeared in video form on MTV Club Hits, Tobtok (aka Tobias Karlsson) shows yet again that he’s leading the new wave of Swedish electronic music DJ / producers on this new single. Globally he has generated over 300+ million streams, holds a double platinum record to his name in Australia with ‘Fast Car’, and enjoys consistent regular DJ and radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, Capital Xtra and more. And that’s not to mention he’s in high demand as a remixer and producer for other artists such as Joel Corry, L Devine, HRVY, Alex Ross, Karen Harding, Kesha and more.

Tobtok

On top of the success of his productions and remixes, Tobtok is as equally in demand as a DJ with the hugely respected house label, Toolroom who invited him to provide a mix for their ‘Miami Poolside’ album series. Alongside this, he has graced the decks at a number of key venues, parties and festivals around the world including Ushuaia (Ibiza), The Warehouse Project (UK), multiple Kitsuné parties across Europe, Creamfields, Sziget and Summerfade festivals, as well as three USA tours with his own headline dates. Outside the DJ booth, Tobtok is a favourite with reputed labels such as Ministry of Sound, Astralwerks, Hexagon, Kitsune and Good Soldier, all lining up to sign his work. With more massive tracks, collaborations and DJ sets lined up, Tobtok is ready to break through in a big way.

Hailing from the shores of Hawaii and setting up shop in Southern California, Mahalo has quickly made a name for himself as one of the newest rising stars in global dance music. By blurring the lines sonically and creating cutting edge material branded as his signature sound "liquid house", this young producer has managed to gain the support of an impressive amount of many of the world’s biggest DJs, producers and tastemakers while also performing at some of the most coveted festivals in North America such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Groove Cruise, Nocturnal Wonderland and Countdown.

Mahalo's 2019 breakout single 'So Cold' (released on Perfect Havoc / Armada) set a benchmark for future success, journeying 15 weeks on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, eventually rising to #1, while also taking the top spot on the Mediabase US Dance Radio chart and achieving over 20 million streams globally. With releases on labels like Tiesto’s AFTR:HRS Records, Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records, Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music and various other tastemaking labels such as Enormous Tunes, Bunny Tiger, and Insomniac Records, it’s no wonder why the world is starting to take notice of this promising talent whose future looks more than bright.

Mahalo

Joining Tobtok and Mahalo on 'This Town' is music industry veteran, Timpo. Over the past few decades, Timpo has sold millions of records worldwide as co-writer for some of the biggest names in the biz from MK to the Pet Shop Boys and Eli Brown to Paloma Faith. His years of expertise in songwriting shines through in this new release with a vocal that sticks long after the track has finished.

'This Town' (feat. Timpo) marks yet another quality release for Perfect Havoc, also a management and events company. The label has hit over 300 million streams globally, bagged two UK Top 10’s with Joel Corry and had numerous other hits with its roster of breaking talent such as Karen Harding, The Aston Shuffle, PS1, Oliver Nelson, Kokiri, Freejak to name a few. The label A&R’s have an acute ear for both underground and mainstream hits, licensing to labels including Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, RCA, Ministry of Sound, Polydor, Toolroom, Thrive and Astralwerks. Perfect Havoc is also a dab hand in the club world, throwing pop-up parties around the globe in London, Norway, Sweden, LA/San Francisco, Paris and South Korea.
