A thumping tech house re-imagination of Akon’s 2005 hit, Belly Dancer by Movada sees the London producer take the original’s vocal hook, turning the tempo up by several BPM’s and layering it perfectly to a funky bassline and driving beat, accented by a catchy horn sample, pitch-shifts and synth sounds harmonizing the vocal line. The result is a complete modern re-work of the original and a testament to Movada’s ingenious composition skills. Movada, who has just signed to Perfect Havoc management and previously served up his skills co-writing and producing for the likes of Matoma and The Vamps, will be the name to remember during the many summer day-party airings of the irresistible house track.
