Tobtok’s latest single ‘Rooftops (Aber)’ featuring Sorana is an incredibly catchy song that is destined to take over the summer. The single will be released on 26th May impacting at the end of June via Ministry Of Sound. Expect to hear this across your airwaves throughout summer 2017.Hailing from Sweden, a current hotspot for Dance music, Tobtok aka Tobias Karlsson is an exciting talent. Tobtok cites one of his greatest influences as the legendary Nile Rodgers. Like Nile, Tobtok also diagnosed and battled with cancer. However in 2014 Tobtok celebrated a year in remission by releasing ‘Savanna’ which was picked up in an EP deal with Parisian label ‘Kitsune’. Tobtok then later signed to Christian Tattersfield’s label ‘Good Soldier Records’ and ‘Good Soldier Publishing’ releasing his first single ‘higher’ which featured Emil Hero. The single received support on BBC Radio 1 from the likes of Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Annie Nightingale and Phil Taggart as well as an abundance of online support. In 2015 Tobtok’s success prompted ‘Connected Artists’ to sign him to their agency alongside heavyweights Avicii, Alesso, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Otto Knows and more.‘Aber’ was released towards the end of 2016 as an instrumental solely for the club circuit. Tobtok is now back with a vocal version of the single which is geared towards the summer with vocals from Singer/Songwriter ‘Sorana’. Originally from Romania, Sorana moved over to London in 2016 to further her career as an artist and songwriter. It didn’t take long for her talent to be recognised with her distinctive vocal coupled with a unique sense of melody which led to collaborations with the likes of Digital Farm Animals, Blonde and most recently Tobtok. Alongside this, Sorana is also working on her solo material which will be released later in the year.
Having racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify on the original version and receiving support from BBC Radio 1, KISS and Capital the sky really is the limit for ‘Rooftops (Aber)’.
